Our Story

What A Combo, Inc. was incorporated on December 14, 1994 and today operates 16 branded food operations across Mississippi. The potential for the founding and development of the company began shortly after R.D. (Ron) Craddock came to McComb, Mississippi in 1979 and founded Craddock Oil Company, Inc.

It wasn't long until Craddock added prepared foods, primarily fried chicken and potato logs, to the product line in the store operations. The success of food sales became the impetus for Craddock Oil Company, Inc.'s entry into convenience store/ branded food combinations, which was the first of such operations in South Mississippi. The first venture, while not tremendously successful, did indeed identify strong potential for the co-development of restaurants within convenience stores.

What A Combo, Inc. now in its 24th year, operates nine Subway Sandwich Shops, one Church's Fried Chicken, one Penn's Restaurant and five Krystal restaurants in Central and South Mississippi.

Currently, What A Combo, Inc. has seven free standing restaurants and eleven restaurants within existing convenience stores.

What A Combo, Inc. is a closely held corporation and employs approximately 200 persons in a variety of professions. The company is now led by Ben Craddock. We are especially proud of the fact that the majority of our many supervisory and management positions are filled by individuals who were originally hired for entry level positions.
